During the past twelve months, many parts of Bearley have benefited from the care and attention paid by the 'Blooming Bearley' initiative. As a small village, we are fortunate in having a group of people who care about the appearance of the flower beds, pots and containers, that are situated around Bearley. We must thank those who physically maintain and plant these areas and for the kind acts of generosity from those people that have given money to purchase plants. Bearley Parish Council have kindly made a generous donation for buying plants, for which we are most grateful.
Trees & Shrubs from The Woodland Trust
The planting of 90 trees and shrubs took place in the new Play Area and Village Hall sports field on Sunday 23rd February. With a splendid selection of Hawthorn, Rowan, Dogwood, Birch, Hazel, Cherry and an Oak grown from an acorn from the Royal Estate, all donated by the Woodland Trust; they were planted by Graham Davidson, Peter & Jo Wall, Ken & Gill Lillie, Carolyn Philips, Mike Diggines and Derek Bull. Together with the programme of planting started by the Blooming Bearley initiative, it was felt that this would further enhance the environs of our delightful village.
